I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy with my clients. Cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidenced-based treatment that is proven to be effective in relieving symptoms of many different problems (e.g. anxiety, depression, eating disorders). I also draw upon attachment theory, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices. I offer exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for individuals struggling with obsessions and compulsions (OCD).
Our environment and our identity play a large role in who we are and where we are today. I take into consideration race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, age, ability, and environment when conceptualizing each client. A detailed understanding of each of these areas will assist in creating the most effective treatment plan for you.
My style is compassionate, collaborative, and authentic. I play an active role in therapy and believe in gently challenging clients in both thoughts and behaviors. I am flexible and open to each individual's needs and encourage frequent "check-ins" regarding what clients find helpful in therapy and how I may better serve them.
